Chesskid.com Setup Instructions

If you are new to Chesskid.com, please use these instructions to  set up your child’s account on Chesskid.com
2) Click the large “SIGN UP” button
3) We will first setup a Parent/Coach account.  Click the “PARENT/COACH” button.
4) Choose an avatar and click the “NEXT” button.  The avatar is not important and it can be changed later.
5) Pick a username and click the “NEXT” button.  It is recommended that you choose one of the random options available.  If you choose to create your own username, it will take the ChessKid staff up to 24 hours to review and approve your choice.  Don’t forget this username, as you will use it to log in to the site.
6) Create a password, enter your valid email address, enter your First and Last name and then click the “FINISH” button.
7) A verification email will be sent to your email address from ChessKid.com.  In that message, click the “Confirm your account” button.
8) With your account confirmed, you should now be logged on to ChessKid.com with your new Parent account. If not, log in.
Now we have to setup your child’s account:
9) Click on the House icon to take you to the Home page.  On the left hand side of the Home page, there is a Menu item called “Manage Kids“.  The icon for this Menu item looks like a Rolodex index card.  Click this item.
10) On the right hand side of the Manage Kids page, there is a Menu item called “Add a Kid“.  Click this item.
11) Choose an avatar.  This can always be changed later.  Then click the “NEXT” button.
12) Pick a username and click the “NEXT” button.  It is recommended that you choose one of the random options available.  If you choose to create your own username, it will take the ChessKid staff up to 24 hours to review and approve your choice. Don’t forget this username, as you will use it to log in to the site.
13) Create a password, enter your child’s First and Last name and then click the “FINISH” button. Make sure your child knows their username and password. This is what they will use to log in to play against their friends.
Now we have to add SpicewoodESChessClub@gmail.com as a guardian of your child in order for him/her to be added to the Spicewood Club.
14) Click on the House icon to take you to the Home page.  On the left hand side of the Home page, there is a Menu item called “Manage Kids“.  The icon for this Menu item looks like a Rolodex index card.  Click this item.
15) Your child’s account should be listed in the middle of the page.  There will be four icons next to their account information and you need to click the icon that has a pencil on it.  This will take you to a page where you can edit the child’s account information.
16) Check the box next to Disable Social Access.  Then click the “SAVE” button.  This will disable kids from sending or receiving messages.  This is a required to join the Spicewood Chesskid club!
17) Again, on the left hand side of the Home page, there is a Menu item called “Manage Kids“.  The icon for this Menu item looks like a Rolodex index card. Click this item.
18) Again click the icon with the pencil that is in the middle of the page.
19) On the right hand side of the Edit page, there is a Menu item called “Manage Guardianship“.  The icon or this Menu item looks like a House Key with a gear on top of it.  Click this item.
20) Enter “SpicewoodESChessClub@gmail.com” in the empty Text field and then choose “Add Guardian” in the pulldown menu. Click the “SAVE” button.
An email message will be sent to the admins of the Spicewood Chess Club and we will add your child to the club.  You will receive an email message from ChessKid.com stating your request to join has been approved.
After this, your child will be a member of the ChessKid Spicewood Chess Club and be able to challenge their friends to chess matches on the site.
